I BELIEVE ...

  • I believe talent deserves more than good intentions—it deserves expertise.
  • I believe anyone can call themselves a teacher, coach, or industry professional. Those titles should invite questions, not end them.
  • I believe a polished website, impressive language, and confident promises are not credentials.
  • I believe parents and young artists should investigate the people they trust with their training: Who trained them? What have they actually done? Who have they successfully trained?
  • I believe reputation should be earned through demonstrated work, not manufactured through marketing.
  • I believe “everyone goes there” is not evidence of quality. Popularity and expertise are not the same thing.
  • I believe awards only mean something when we understand the scale and quality of the competition. Winning against a small or limited field is not the same as competing successfully on a regional, national, or professional level. Simply calling something a "national" competition does not make it so.
  • I have little interest in competitions designed primarily to hand out trophies. Competition should expose young artists to a larger field, a higher standard, and work that challenges their perception of what excellence looks like.
  • I believe the purpose of competition isn't to make students feel accomplished; it's to discover whether their work holds up beyond the walls of their own school, studio, or community.
  • I believe if someone claims they can prepare you for the professional world, they should be able to demonstrate that they understand that world. "I performed on Broadway." isn't enough.
  • I believe serious training costs too much—in money, time, and artistic development—to choose blindly.
  • I believe young artists deserve teachers, programs, and opportunities that can withstand scrutiny.
  • I believe that being an actor does not automatically make you a teacher. Those are two completely different disciplines.
  • And I believe the simplest question is often the most important: Show me the evidence.

last year's incredible season

#1 ARTS
SCHOOL IN UTAH

THE FUTURE OF ARTS EDUCATION STARTS HERE
UNMATCHED TRAINING. UNRIVALED VISION.

  • We don’t just meet the standard—we define it.
  • We train driven young artists to create, transform, and lead.
  • We believe talent deserves visionary instruction, professional rigor, and uncompromising expectations.
  • We don’t believe in playing it safe—we believe in challenging what arts education can be.
  • We believe exceptional artists are developed through exceptional training.
  • We set the bar higher, dig deeper, and demand more from the work.
  • We measure ourselves not by what other schools are doing, but by the standards of the professional and collegiate worlds our students are preparing to enter.
  • We believe results matter—and ours speak for themselves.
  • We aren’t preparing students for yesterday’s arts education. We’re building what comes next.
  • Utah Arts Academy: the future of arts education in America.
