Dear Students,

Thank you for the focus and commitment you brought to auditions for The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. This is a demanding piece, and it was inspiring to watch each of you bring honesty and imagination into the room.

Casting this production was especially challenging, not because of a lack of ability, but because I care so much about each of you. Every audition counted, and every choice you made carried weight. Often, the decisions came down not to talent, but to how the pieces of this specific story came together.

For those cast, congratulations. This play will ask a great deal of you—precision, ensemble trust, and emotional depth—and we are excited to begin the work.

For those not cast, please know this: your bravery and artistry matter. This is one audition in a much larger journey. Continue to challenge yourself, continue to show up, and remember that persistence is one of an artist’s greatest strengths.

I am proud of all of you. Please, keep going.

With appreciation,
Kyle Lewis – Director
