2. EYE CONTACT AND LISTENING
The goal is to become comfortable receiving another person's behavior before responding.
Exercise A: One-Minute Look
Partners maintain eye contact. No talking. One minute.
Discuss afterward:
Exercise B: Last Word
Partner A speaks.
Partner B begins by repeating only the last word they heard before responding.
Example:
A: "I'm worried about tomorrow."
B: "Tomorrow..." Then respond.
This forces listening.
Exercise C: Count to Twenty
Partners count:
A: 1
B: 2
A: 3
B: 4

Partner A tells a short story.
Partner B repeats the story—not word for word, but preserving the meaning.
